Have you heard the expression “Boots on the Ground?” Well our Live Dead Missionaries are the boots on the Silk Road. Here we’d like to take a moment and allow one of them to share a snapshot of their life with you. Some names and details have been changed, but this is a true story from this colorful, vibrant, and sometimes surprising region.

CS1It’s early morning and my feet crunch on a country dirt road as I run. I am stateside now, at home yet displaced. It is part of this journey, this life, to come home to America and feel out of sync.

As I crest another country hill, see the sweet grass stutter with the same breeze that sweeps across my face, I smile. Because today, while I may be out of sync, displaced, and just a little off-kilter I am at the same time humbled with joy. Humbled by the love, belief and support found in secret places.

This part of the journey being home, sharing our hearts, and asking for partners is equal parts nerve wracking and exhausting. We travel, sleep in unknown beds and are vulnerable to our core. We are sometimes accepted, sometimes rejected. Oh but we carry on for the beauty… the beauty of partnership.

When the Lord ties you to us in such unexpected ways, it is a swell of joy.

We need you. We are humbled by you. You bring us to our knees.

Yes, we live this journey and it’s hard and confusing and heart wrenching, but you… you give us the privilege of being obedient and fulfilling the dreams of God’s heart.

You hold us up, you believe in us, you partner with us.

Without you this job, this journey would be impossible.
