Live Dead Core Value: Abiding

A daily focal point for all of the Live Dead teams (with a special emphasis in January,) the Core Value and our chief methodology of Abiding recently impacted some participants in a week long intensive trip on the Silk Road. Below are their reflections and a video overview of the value.

Abiding in Christ.

This trip was amazing, and it was so awesome how much God spoke to us this week. Every day we spent time with the Lord for two hours, which honestly, I was a little intimidated about at first because I never really spend that much blocked time with Him. But it ended up being such a great time and from that time, we were able to pour out into either each other or whoever we might have been around each day. We were filled each morning to be poured out throughout the day.

An example of this was one of the days we did a prayer walk. During my abiding time that morning I was lead to John 15:5 which says, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” Which is awesome and true. While on the prayer walk I just kept remembering how these people need Jesus and that they need to see who the True Vine is, because the branch that is apart from the Vine will wither and die.

Taylor

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I need him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5

Words cannot explain how much that God has moved this week. Coming to Central Eurasia for a week has really increased my Faith in God. Before coming, I was expecting anything. At the beginning of the week, I prayed for a few things, and one thing I prayed for was that God would reveal things to me.

All week during abiding time, God kept giving me the word Faith through various scripture, and I didn’t know why. Throughout the week I was able to go prayer walking and sowing. While doing so, I knew that I needed to have faith and trust that God was going to come through and win these battles. I needed to have faith that God was going to reign over this city and do a mighty work in His children. Psalm 72:11 says, “Yea, all kings shall fall down before Him: all nations shall serve Him.” Not only did God increase my faith by giving me a great love for Muslims and locals, He also gave me a greater faith in accepting the calling He has on my life. From the age of 14 God has called me to preach His Gospel, but I never wanted to be a “preacher.” After this week, God has confirmed my calling and has given me the humble boldness to accept His calling.
