Brokenhearted

Have you heard the expression “Boots on the Ground?” Well our Live Dead Missionaries are the boots on the Silk Road. Here we’d like to take a moment and allow one of them to share part of their life with you. Some names and details have been changed, but this is a true story from this colorful, vibrant, and sometimes surprising region and those who God has called to work here.

Recently, my daughter’s best friend, Zeliha, came over for a play date. They have been best friends since they were 3 and are both now 8. They had a great day together which included playing dolls, restaurant, making slime, and to my dismay getting the slime stuck on the ceiling. Unfortunately, they don’t attend the same school anymore, so this day was especially great.

After her friend left, my daughter burst into tears. “I don’t want Zeliha to go to hell! She is such a sweet girl. She doesn’t deserve this! Mommy, why don’t you and Daddy share with her parents?”

I was immediately brokenhearted. I responded that of course we have shared. We have even give them a Bible, but unfortunately they haven’t made the decision to follow Jesus yet. Right there in that moment, we stopped and prayed for Zeliha and her family to understand the love and forgiveness that waits for them in Jesus.

It is heavy on our hearts that the beautiful people of this land don’t know the salvation and freedom of Jesus. Our children experience this too as we live every day among the lost.
