Take a prayer walk with us through nine cities of Iran. We will highlight for you the physical dynamic of water and its correlated spiritual meaning. We look to the Source of living water to fill the thirsty hearts of Iranians this Nowruz season!

Wells are dug all over Iran in the fight and search for water. With the ground water being extracted faster than it is being replaced by the natural processes, there’s a great risk of losing ground water permanently. Most wells are dug without a permit, and getting a permit is not that easy. However, the people are thirsty, and so they dig. Kermanshah is located near Iraq and is mostly Kurdish Iranians. Just as the Samaritans in Jesus’ day were a people without recognition, so the Kurds are too. But Jesus sees them both. As He spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well, He speaks to the people of Kermanshah and Iran:

            Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13-14)

“Jesus, may Your well be in the hearts of the people of Iran, the well that never goes dry, the well that spills over living water to thirsty hearts around them. As they dig physical wells, may they dig for true life and find You. Also, bring healing to the land as Your Kingdom comes!”
