Barraan … Rain

Take a prayer walk with us through nine cities of Iran. We will highlight for you the physical dynamic of water and its correlated spiritual meaning. We look to the Source of living water to fill the thirsty hearts of Iranians this Nowruz season!
Barraan
Even though Iran is undergoing a vast and devastating drought, one community seems to be immune to it all: Rasht, “The City of Rain.” Located up by the Caspian Sea, Rasht gets an abundance of rain, or “barraan” as it is known in Persian. The lushness in the heat of summer is in stark contrast to the other cities we have visited. If fact, the old buildings of Rasht need repair every year due to humidity damage!
Ask rain from the LORD…from the LORD who makes the storm clouds, and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone the vegetation in the field. (Zechariah 10:1)
Let’s ask for spiritual rain over Iran.
“Jesus, thank you for the rain you give to Rasht. The difference physical rain has on the land is dramatic. How much more so rain of living water to parched souls! Jesus, in your great mercy, pour out your grace on the people of Iran through dreams, visions, and other redeemed persons. Let the church of Iran rise up to ask You for rain and see their fellow people become verdant with vegetation.”
