With heavy heart and tears
A team leader in West Africa writes with a heavy heart and tears in his eyes:
Truly speaking, the Ebola epidemic is getting worse. Suspected and confirmed Ebola cases are all over the country including Freetown, the capital city. Five towns are closed. Public vehicles are not allowed in or out, so people must stay where they are. The borders are closed and each country is fighting the virus.
People are living in fear. Church members have died and believers in the east and elsewhere are beginning to experience food and disinfectant shortages. It’s difficult to travel to see them. We have only phone contact.
Many health workers have died. Some market places, business and entertainment centers have been closed. Schools and colleges have been shut down. Public gatherings are not allowed with the exception of worship places. We are under a state of emergency.
Please pray for us as we go through this epidemic.
