I met a long-time friend, “Jewel”, during Ramadan and then again today. I’ve prayed in the name of Jesus for her healing before but she would remind me that she believes “Jesus isn’t God, only God is God.”

Before she came today, I asked God to show me how to lift up Jesus. I asked her questions about how Muslims travel to Mecca, why they do it and why they pray. I then shared how and why I pray.

As she prepared to leave, I joked about wanting to keep her daughter with me. She jokingly asked her daughter, “Do you want to live with Teacher now? You can go to church tomorrow and learn about Christianity.” We were laughing but then she asked the serious question I had been waiting for, “What does the word ‘Christian’ mean?” I could not have asked for a better opportunity to share Christ! She stayed an extra twenty minutes while I explained what it means to be a true follower of Christ, how He forgives us and gives us power over sin.

Jewel has very, very little understanding of what we believe and who Jesus is. As she learns more, pray her spiritual eyes will be opened and she will recognize the Truth. Pray for a holy curiosity to learn more about Christians, and Jesus whom they follow. Thank you for praying for these opportunities to share the Gospel during Ramadan and Eid al Fitr. Swahilii Coast
