Shatter the darkness
The sun rises over desolate beaches, devoid of the usual morning activity of this Fishing Boat community. Only a few walk quietly on the beach, rolling their prayer beads and reciting the attributes of God. Ramadan has started. The hustle and bustle is replaced with quiet mornings of prayer and reflection before each work day starts.

Our students share their Ramadan hopes and beliefs with us. Our hearts are touched that they feel closer to God during this month when they spend more time in prayer and reflection. But they still have no assurance that their prayers are being heard.
During this weekend please pray that, just as morning light shatters the darkness, so our Lord’s “Sonlight” will shatter the darkness in our Muslim friends’ hearts and bring them true life.
“In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness but the darkness has not understood it.” John 1:4-5
