Who was that man?

A team leader wrote:
His father summoned Emad* to the family home. “You have been seen meeting with Christians and studying the Bible. This cannot be true because we are a Muslim family! What do you say?”

Emad had dreaded this moment’s coming for the last two years. Without weighing his words, he boldly blurted out, “Yes, I am a follower of Jesus and I will not go back!” At that, his father began to beat him, knocking him out of the chair as the family sat stoically observing.

Then one of Emad’s uncles ran to the father and grabbed his arm. “Stop! he shouted. What are you doing? For the last 6 months Emad has been a better son to you than he has ever been in his life. If this is what Jesus does, then I say leave him alone!” At that the father relented and told Emad to leave at once.

At 3:00 AM, a pounding on Emad’s apartment door jolted him awake. His heart raced. He wondered, “Has my father come to kill me?” He could barely move out of his bed. Peeking through the cracked-open door, he saw his uncle. The uncle burst into the apartment, “I have to talk with right now! As I was in my bedroom, trying to sleep, a man came to me 5 times and said, ‘Go talk to Emad. You need to hear what he says.’ Who was that man?”

Emad had the privilege of telling his uncle all about Jesus, who He is, what He has done, and why that’s important. The story is not finished yet as the Holy Spirit works through Emad to reach his family.
