Better With Coffee

Have you heard the expression “Boots on the Ground?” Well our Live Dead Missionaries are the boots on the Silk Road. Here we’d like to take a moment and allow one of them to share a snapshot of their life with you. Some names and details have been changed, but this is a true story from this colorful, vibrant, and sometimes surprising region.
Before one of our work colleagues moved back to the U.S., she introduced us to a young, energetic woman that she had started to read God’s word with.
Never before have I seen someone so excited to read the word of God. She makes notes and observations as she reads. Each time we meet she always exclaims,
You know this book is always better with coffee!
It brings a smile to my face.
The passing off of the relationship reminded me of what Paul wrote, “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gives the increase” (1 Cor 3:6). That is my prayer for this young woman. My colleague planted, we are continuing to water, but God alone can give the increase in this young woman’s life.
