Blake is a passionate young man, whose life is a testimony to God’s power of transformation. You can read more about his story here.
The calling.
The mission.
The frontlines.
These are an invitation by the Lord Jesus to all of those that believe in Him.
We are all called to be missionaries on the frontlines. You may be ministering to drug addicts, prostitutes, the homeless, or any other person bound by sin here in America. It may be a family member. Or it could be the great harvest of Muslims, Hindus, or Buddhists of the world, who have no access to the gospel, because there are no evangelical Christians living among them. Either way, bottom line is, we who proclaim are all on the frontlines, regardless of the geographical location. We are all missionaries. We are all called!
Along with salvation comes proclamation. Confessing Christ as Savior and not proclaiming His message is simple rebellion. Jesus used the same word to cast out demons that He used to send out His disciples. It is the word “ekballo.” Mark 6:13, “And they were casting out (ekballo) demons…” Luke 10:2, “And He was saying to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out (ekballo) laborers into His harvest.'”
When Jesus cast out demons, they went! When He sends us forth, we go!
The Invitation to the 10/40
[Romans 11:29]“For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”
To me it is not a question of WHY anymore, but a question of WHEN and WHERE. When will I be among the unreached and unengaged people of the world, and where will that be? The more knowledge I attain concerning the vast numbers of unreached people groups, versus the numbers of Christians living among them, the more inconceivable it became to NOT go.
I have never set foot on foreign land, much less the Middle East or 10/40 window, the part of the world that everyone seems to look upon with distaste and scorn. It is a very sensitive part of the world, especially when it comes to religion. So why would you go? Why would I go? WHY WOULD JESUS GO? We all know the answer to that question. He would go to save the lost.
Over 6,000 people groups unreached.
No Gospel.
No salvation.
No proclamation.
No Christians.
Over 40% of the world’s population, LOST. That is why we go!
By default, as a disciple of Jesus Christ, I am CALLED to proclaim Him among those who do not know Him. There is no option but obedience to my Lord. Paul said it this way, “Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation” (Romans 15:20). The calling eats at me. The invitation by the Lord to “come” is ever beckoning me. I can hear the souls of the Muslim, the Hindu, the Buddhist, etc. I can hear them! “Come save us.” I hear the Holy Spirit saying, “Do not be afraid, I will not leave nor forsake you. Go to them and tell them.”
God will not relent until every tribe, every nation and every people has heard. I understand that people need God’s love where I am in Georgia, and in many other places in our nation. I know this, but I also know the abundance of Christian resources that we have here. I live in the belt buckle of the Bible belt! There is a church on every corner! But there, among the unreached, they perish from the lack of knowledge. They do not know! And I cannot live with that. I can’t.
If I never go, I will pray. I will send. But I will not be complacent and ignorant or simply hope that someone else, someone who is “called” will go.
[Psalm 69:9]“For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.”
Do Your Part
Pray for those who are in the regions beyond, where Christ is yet to be named, and honestly seek the Lord to see if He would have you go. The more we pray for the unreached, the more grace is released, and the more we share with heaven for the calling to reach them.
We are all called to PRAY. We are all called to SEND. We are all called to GO.
