Live Dead Plants Churches Among Unreached People Groups Through Teams
Whatever our engagement, our goal is churches.
Live Dead is a grassroots initiative that partners with the global body of Christ to plant churches among unreached people groups through teams. Our values are abide (extravagant time and intimacy with Jesus as in John 15), apostle (take the gospel to where Christ is not named as in Romans 15), and abandon (pay any price to see Jesus exalted everywhere as in Matthew 16).
Live Dead currently has 80 teams working to see church planting movements among 80 unreached peoples. In the areas where Live Dead is located, there are over 4,600 UPGS and 2.99 billion unreached. God help us, there is so much more to be done. We are eager to partner with all the body of Christ (other agencies, local believers, and national churches) to see Jesus glorified globally.
“And he said to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” (Luke 10:2, ESV)
Live Dead is committed to taking the church where it does not exist. We are committed to making a difference in the statistic that 40 percent of the world lives without access to Christ. Live Dead’s strategy to execute this vision is to plant churches among unreached people groups through multi-national teams. Whatever our engagement, our goal is churches.
Live Dead’s Core Values
Live Dead teams share 12 values that we define within three core categories — Abide, Apostle, and Abandon.
We Value Abiding
Intimacy with Jesus will define us and guide us in all we do. Each day’s best is realized when it includes extravagant time in His presence. Abiding in Him personally and corporately empowers us to bear much fruit.
We Value Character
Who we are will drive what we do. Integrity, humility, and authenticity are just as important as competence.
We Value the Holy Spirit
As the Spirit fills us, His power overflows into every area of our lives, affecting all we think, say, and do. The Spirit equips us with supernatural gifts to fulfill our mission. We boldly proclaim Jesus everywhere to everyone, believing miraculous signs will follow. We regularly pray in the Spirit and exercise all the authority afforded to believers in Jesus’ name. We affirm our wholehearted dependence on the Holy Spirit.
We Value Learning
An attitude of life-long learning helps missionaries understand the culture and worldview of those with whom they work.
We Value Pioneering
Pioneering is living and proclaiming the gospel in a culturally appropriate manner among unreached people groups with the goal of planting the church where it does not exist.
We Value Apostolic Function
Apostolic function is a lens worn by every one of our missionaries that sees his or her calling as part of God’s plan to reach every tribe, tongue, and people. It places a focus on proclaiming the gospel to unreached people groups, planting the church among them, and raising up participants in God’s global mission. It compels the whole church to take the whole gospel to the whole world.
We Value Partnering
Partnership describes the relationship between missionaries and the indigenous churches we plant. Developing self-governing, self-supporting, and self-propagating churches is foundational to the relationship. Fruitful ministry occurs when the mission and the national church serve together in humility.
We Value Teams
Teams are collections of people working together for the common goal of planting the church among unreached peoples. Teams are empowered to create and to define a team structure according to their context.
We Value Transformation
Transformation is a change from a contrary condition of human existence to God’s purposes to one in which people are able to enjoy fullness of life in harmony with God. Every activity will be regarded as an opportunity to touch people in love, to speak relevant words of truth pointing them to God, and to experience the supernatural intervention of the Holy Spirit.
We Value Community
We will integrate our lives with neighbors and indigenous believers. A logical outgrowth of commitment to local language, to culture learning, and to lifestyle evangelism is living where we minister.
We Value Sacrifice
We recognize that the people groups that remain unreached face hostile spiritual and physical contexts of living. We commit ourselves to pay whatever price is necessary to reach them with the gospel.
We Value Accountability
Authority is given by God and essential to who we are. We will respect, honor, and obey our authorities, considering them God’s means of protection, counsel, and covering.
