We went to breakfast at a local restaurant. After we ate, Nina worked up the courage to tell Alan that she is a follower of Jesus. It took her a good five minutes of telling him that she had a secret and making him promise to not tell anyone before the words escaped her mouth. This was HUGE for Nina. Alan is the first person from her culture that she has told about her decision to follow Jesus. Alan actually hugged her when he found out. That is something you never see in this culture. It was a beautiful moment.
Then I asked Nina why she decided to become a Christian and she passionately shared her testimony of coming to faith and her suspicions about Islam. I watched as this new Christian woman from an unreached people group boldly shared her faith in her native tongue, and I thought to myself: “Yes, Jesus will build His Church here!”
Later, I told Alan that we love him and that we are praying for him to also accept Jesus. We believe he is close.
Will you pray for Alan to find the courage to follow Jesus? Will you pray that Nina will grow even more courageous in proclaiming Jesus to more of her own people?
