Live Dead is committed to taking the church where it does not exist. We are committed to making a difference in the statistic that 40 percent of the world lives without access to the gospel. Dick Brogden answers foundational questions about Live Dead:
What do we do?
We make disciples and plant churches.
Where do we do it?
We do it where the church doesn’t exist— among unreached people groups.
How do we do it?
We do it in teams. We do it together with the body of Christ, through multiagency, multinational, and multigenerational teams. We do it with believers from outside the countries and with believers from within the indigenous people groups. Most importantly, we do it with the Holy Spirit. He is the executive of mission. We can do nothing without Him.
Why do we do it?
We do it because of the love of God. The love of God compels us. Our love will run out. There will be times when we don’t love the people we’re working among, and there will be times when they don’t love us. But it is God’s love that will sustain us, even when our feelings or emotions are battered.
What is the goal?
The goal is the glory of God among all peoples. Jesus is worthy of glory by every people group on earth, and we know that’s how it ends. Revelation 5:9 says that around the throne there will be people from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. And we know that we are most satisfied when we glorify Jesus.
What is the measure of our success?
It is obedience. It’s not numbers. Numbers don’t prove anything in the end. It’s whether or not we’ve been faithful, whether or not we’ve obeyed what God has asked us to do.
